Burn Regulations

Burn Ban Info- When the Burn Ban begins and is lifted is determined by the Cascade Locks Fire Chief. You can call the Fire Department for current burn regulations for Cascade Locks at 541-374-8510. When the burn ban is not in effect burn barrels, warming fires, and small debris piles are allowed during certain hours of the day. Please have a valid permit. Permits can be obtained at City Hall. Please call the Fire Department for the most updated information regarding the Burn Ban; 541-374-8510.

When the Burn Ban is lifted backyard burn pits and campfires must be in a secured, clean area that is safe, it must have a metal cover with no larger than 1/4” holes, you must have a hose close by, and the fire can not be left unattended. Propane fire pits are approved if used appropriately and do not require a cover. Any questions please contact the Fire Department or City Hall. Thank you for your cooperation. Additionally, when Hood River County Fire Agencies establish the burn ban it will be strictly enforced in Cascade Locks city limits. 

Burn Permits

Burn Permits are issued on a yearly basis and obtained in person at City Hall, 140 SW Wa Na Pa.

Residential Permits: For burn piles less than 10'X10': $10

Commercial Permits : $15 (require the Fire Department approval in advance)
